Lake Baldwin Church

Hey everyone!

What an exciting and long day!  It was definitely a long day of travel.  We arrived in Jasper, GA around 7:00 p.m.  The students got their first chance to meet their groups and had their first small group.  While our camp theme is "Devoted" our church's theme for week is "Unity."  Our verse on our name tags is 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.  We discussed what would our lives, relationships, goals be like if those verses were true.  Where we could boast in our weaknesses, insecurities, hurts because of the God's grace in our lives.  We wanted our group to build unity not just on a surface level, but a deeper unity based on the gospel.  We know that this week will bring its share of drama, but we also know it is only if the gospel is the foundation of our relationships that those relationships will actually come out stronger!

In our small groups, students partnered with another student they might not know as well and shared some of their own weaknesses and insecurities.  Afterwards we got together and shared some more about ourselves as well as shared expectations for this week.  

We're hoping to get a good night's rest for another long and exciting day tomorrow (white water rafting!)
